This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of i‘rāb (grammatical inflection) in Arabic and its counterpart, the case system for nouns (Kasus) in German, from the perspective of contrastive linguistics. The study uses a descriptive and comparative approach to identify similarities and differences between the two grammatical systems, with an emphasis on the syntactic and semantic functions of each noun case. The research relies on analyzing practical examples in both languages in order to examine how the grammatical status of the noun changes depending on the factors affecting it, and how grammatical rules are applied within sentences. It also discusses the difficulties faced by learners of German whose native language is Arabic, and seeks to provide recommendations for teaching German in a way that takes into account the grammatical differences between the two languages.
