Cohesion as a Textual Criterion in Surah Al-Qadr

Abstract

This research examines one of the seven textual criteria developed by De Beaugrande: the criterion of cohesion. It applies this criterion to one of the noblest and most sacred texts, the Holy Quran. The purpose of applying this and other seven criteria to this sacred text is not to investigate its quality, but rather to recognize that God Almighty has guaranteed its quality and completeness. Therefore, these criteria can be applied to this text, revealing its textual nature in all its aspects.
