Political and Military Aspects of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (Peace be Upon Them)(A Study in Hayat al-Hayawan [Life of the Animals] by al-Damīrī)

Abstract

This research addresses the political and military aspects of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) that are mentioned in the book Hayat al-Hayawan by Shams al-Dīn Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Damīrī (d. 808 AH). This is done through analyzing the texts, narrations, and reports included in the book that relate to the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). The study aims to reveal the image of the Imams (peace be upon them) in this encyclopedic source and to clarify their political and military roles, as well as their stances toward the events witnessed throughout Islamic history.
