Abstract

This research presents a contemporary analytical jurisprudential study of sleep and its nullifiers for ablution, purification, and fasting, drawing on Quranic evidence and the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family (peace be upon them). The researcher demonstrates the benefits of sleep for humans and its direct impact on the individual and society, particularly with the emergence and widespread phenomenon of irregular and disturbed sleep among most people. It becomes clear that sleep is not merely a physiological need; rather, it is a phenomenon subject to the five obligatory rulings according to circumstances and conditions. The research also highlights the negative effects on societies if social media platforms are not regulated. The results revealed that Islamic jurisprudence offers a comprehensive vision for regulating sleep through sleep etiquette derived from the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family (peace be upon them). The research concludes with two sections: The first: defining sleep and its synonyms in terms of its meaning, stages, and importance. The second: explaining the rulings and etiquette of sleep, as well as the psychological and social effects resulting from irregular sleep. It then presents the results and key recommendations. I ask Allah to make my research a beneficial and beneficial addition to my life in this world and the hereafter. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
