Crimes against life and lesser offenses are among the most serious crimes punishable under Islamic law. Islam forbids attacks on life and limb and prescribes punishments for those who commit such crimes. In this humble research entitled "The Criteria of Criminal Responsibility in Islamic Jurisprudence," we will examine crimes, their types, the criteria and conditions for criminals in Islamic jurisprudence, and how to deal with them. The research is divided into two sections. The first section contains two subsections: the first defines the terms in the title and includes the following issues: the first issue defines the criteria (conditions), the second defines crimes, and the third defines jurisprudence. The second subsection discusses the rulings on crimes. The second section, on the types of crimes, their rulings, criteria, and conditions in Islamic jurisprudence, also contains two subsections: the first addresses crimes against life, and the second addresses crimes against lesser offenses. This section includes five issues: the first addresses the types of crimes against life, the second addresses the conditions for retaliation in cases of limb injuries, the third addresses the conditions for the obligation of retaliation, the fourth addresses the issue of amputating a paralyzed limb with a healthy one, and the fifth addresses the timing of retaliation for lesser offenses. The research concludes with a summary.
