Abstract

The research aimed to investigate the situation through which the Russians sought to penetrate the European sphere, as Europe has always carried factors of its societal contradictions throughout its history. The factors of ethnic and sectarian differences that prevailed in European societies turned into a state of political conflict. This situation created an investment climate for Russia through which it practiced imperialism that granted it vast areas of European lands across its vital sphere, which has always been an obsession that arouses its concern about the possibility of its European opponents penetrating it.The importance of the research came from the necessity of understanding the influences that led the Russians to embody their expansion in European lands by moving from the stage of suffering their anxiety to the state of confrontation when it came to extinguishing European risks. The research concluded in some of its conclusions that the European concerns that aroused the fears of the Russians were influential in adopting Russian imperialism towards Europe, along with an abundance of Russian imperialist thought to dominate Europe.
