Abstract

This research examines political marriage between the Buyids and other political powers, such as the Abbasid caliphs, the Seljuks, Turkish commanders, the Daylamites, and others. At a time when the multiplicity of emirates and ruling states during the Abbasid era led to several changes across various periods in political positions, conflicts, and alliances; this prompted the Buyids to resort to political intermarriages with other powers in order to limit these conflicts and strengthen the bonds of cooperation and alliance among them.
