The narrator is considered one of the fundamental pillars of narrative structure, as it represents the central element upon which the entire process of narration relies. The narrator is responsible for driving events and organizing them in a manner that aligns with the author's vision and artistic objectives. Through the narrator, the relationship between the text and the reader is constructed, as they undertake the task of conveying events and presenting them within a narrative framework that fulfills the semantic purpose of the text. The role of the narrator is not limited to merely transmitting events; rather, it extends to deeper levels. The narrator possesses the ability to perceive and direct the trajectories of characters, whether through direct participation in events or through external commentary. Additionally, the narrator may resort to exploring the inner dimensions of characters, revealing their psychological depths, or highlighting their cultural and intellectual features through various techniques, most notably dialogue.Accordingly, it is inconceivable for a narrative work to exist without a narrator who performs the function of storytelling, although characters may be absent in some modern narrative experiments. Ultimately, the narrator is an artistic tool subject to the author’s control, shaped and directed in accordance with their creative vision. The narrator thus represents the author’s voice within the text and serves as the medium through which events and conceptualizations are articulated.
